The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Production Engineer/Specialist position available in Deepwater, NJ. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to Area Manager.
A broad range of responsibilities includes daily production support and planning, resolution of process issues, and safety leadership. This role will also drive improvements in process uptime and building effectiveness, assistance to shutdown planning and execution, and participation in continuous improvement implementation.
The Production Engineer/Specialist will coordinate production activities for the Surface Protection Solutions Finished Products manufacturing area at the Chambers Works Site. These activities must be managed daily in a safe and environmentally sound manner while supporting overall business objectives.
This position works closely with operations, technical, supply chain, quality, and maintenance to ensure continuous and efficient production in timely fashion, desired quantities and quality. In addition, this position manages process safety and personnel performance. It requires coordination of delivery against standards established by PSM, business expectations, and Continuous Improvement (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc.). The person in this position must be able to provide leadership, development of team members, and execution of daily production activities in conjunction with improvement initiatives for the production area's assets.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing the quality, robustness, and capability of the process; and making decisions to halt or modify production as needed should the process not meet safety or quality standards.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for compliance with policies, procedures and safety standards related to Process Safety Management (PSM) involving high hazard processes.
Ensure continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality.
Interface with supply chain for coordination and development of production schedules and understanding of customer needs.
Interface with site Maintenance for coordination of maintenance work and effective execution of the work management process.
Interface with Technology group to coordinate and support improvement programs and initiatives for the production asset.
Drive continuous improvement toward increased competitiveness through Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
Lead by setting high standards and operating discipline.
Lead investigations of operational, and safety and environmental incidents.
Manage daily production in a safe and environmentally sound manner, supporting PSM, cost, yield, utility, production capability, and Continuous Improvement objectives.
Demonstrated ability to get results, meet commitments, troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise as it pertains to the business's operations.
Must have strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with all levels of organization.
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence others to achieve desired results.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Associates or higher degree in engineering or related industrial-oriented discipline and a minimum of two years' experience in a process manufacturing environment
Seven plus years' experience in a process manufacturing environment with a minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory role in a process manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work with a diverse population of employees.
Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and High Hazard Processes.
Strong computer skills including MS office and specifically proficient in MS Excel.
Ability to assess and improve individual and group performance.
Experience in setting and maintaining meaningful metrics to drive improvement.
Demonstrated knowledge & experience using and interpreting key metrics used to monitor and improve the process (uptime, yield and quality metrics).
Work hour flexibility to be the first call for a 24/7 operation.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
A Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certification.
Experience with SAP PM Module is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
